Poplin (150 g/mē), also called tabinet (or tabbinet). Strong cotton fabric in a plain weave of pure cotton, with crosswise ribs that gives a soft corded surface.
Specific advantages include improved wrinkle resistance, durability and high color retention. Products made from this material are easy to wash, iron and do not wrinkle easily.
Used extensively in apparel and for dressmaking and craft projects, particularly quilting and patchwork, children's wear, home furnishings and for rich upholstery work.
